Herbs for liver support:
To further support the liver during the liver cleanse, we recommend to mix 4 full droppers of Dr. Group’s LivaTrex liquid liver herbs formula. The formula combines science proven herbs such as Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) and Chanca piedra (Phyllanthus niruri) that can help to repair and regenerate the liver, as well as to dissolve and soften liver and gallbladder stones (gallstones).
Apple Cider Vinegar
Raw apple cider vinegar (ACV) is well known for its natural ability to cleanse, detox and enhance the body’s ability to naturally flush out toxins. For this reason, you can find ACV in most liver detox drink, (and in fact in any cleanse drink recipes).
The research data also supports the liver cleansing benefits of apple cider vinegar. One study evaluated the effect of apple cider vinegar on mice that were fed with a high cholesterol diet. The results suggest that apple cider vinegar was able to protect the kidneys and liver from an oxidative injury [1].
Another study also supported these findings, and suggested that apple cider vinegar was able to regulate lipid metabolism and decrease liver damage in rats that were fed with a high fat diet [2].
Lemon Juice
Drinking lemon juice in warm water is a known ayurvedic practice that has a long traditional use. Natural, safe and effective, this simple home remedy can help the body to cleanse, detox and stimulate digestion.
The liver cleansing benefits of lemon juice are also supported by modern science. The research suggests that lemon juice can regulate elevated levels of serum ALT and AST liver enzymes as well as triacylglycerol and lipid peroxidation in the liver [3].
Liver Herbs
There are a number of herbs that can further improve the liver cleanse results due to some unique properties. Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) for example, may help to repair and regenerate the liver. Chanca piedra (Phyllanthus niruri), also known as stonebreaker, can dissolve and soften liver and gallbladder stones (gallstones).
For best results, always get your liver herbs from a trusted source. You want to make sure you use high quality fresh herbs (ideally organic or wildcrafted). For the ease of use and to improve the absorption in the body, it is best to use these herbs in an alcohol free liquid formula.
In our liver cleanse protocol we use Dr. Group’s LivaTrex liquid liver herbs formula. Simply add 4 full droppers with the liver detox drink recipe.
Liver Cleanse Juice
This Liver cleanse juice (see recipe) is another effective way to cleanse and your liver and support the detox process. The main difference between the juice to the liver detox drink, is that the juice provides your body much more nutrients. For this reason, we like to combine both the juice and liver detox drink as a part of the liver and gallbladder cleanse protocol.
